The main props in our music video are going to be paper boats and photographs. My partner and I thought by using only two main props would be more effective as they'll serve a greater purpose creating a bigger impact on the audience.
Paper boats
We decided on using paper boats as a prop for the music video, the reasoning behind this is that my partner and I wanted the boats to represent letting go and setting sail which is a metaphor of the song. The paper boats will be used at the end of the video where the girl will release a couple dozen into the water. By using them at the end of the video will hopefully allow the audience to believe she has moved on.
To learn how to make the paper boats Imogen and I watched watched many step to step tutorials on YouTube, once we got the hang of it they were easy to make!

As we were unsure to how long the boats would last and to save us time during production we dedcided to time them in the bath. The boats took around five minutes before they started to sink which means we have to be quick when filming this scene of the music video, or find a stronger alternative.

The colour of the boats was originally planned to be white however we decided to change them to red. Red represents love, strength and power which will hopefully make the narrative clearer to the audience.

Photographs
Because the boy and girl in
the music video were once in a relationship we decided to print off happy
memories of look alikes, which will hopefully create enigma as to why they
broke up. Also, we purposely selected black and white photographs of hidden faces to enforce the
idea of a memory upon the couple.
